Hi,
I have question about safe using of this service. Earlier I have all traffic redirected by VPN directly from router but for some reasons, now this is not possible. I have own vps server with installed openvpn, configured like encrypted vpn tunnel. Login is not with user/pass but with rsa key file. My box is dreambox 800hd pvr and image open-pli and mgcamd. It's possible to connect my box with my vpn to encrypt traffic from internet provider? Or is there any better way how to protect myself?

Hi,
Protect against what or whom? You can only protect yourself against hackers using password-protected receiver.

Why do you think that you are interesting to your internet provider? Are you breaking any laws? or visiting child porno web-sites? or doing any illegal activity? Why?

I think it would be interesting for internet provider to filter and report customers which using cardsharing services. Specialy if internet provider is satellite tv provider too :) Or you think, they can't do this? Redirect mgcamd via encrypted vpn could be nice solution

To my mind, you are aggravating the situation. Internet provider is responsible only for providing you with internet, its quality and rates. Generally speaking, ISP does not care what are you doing in the net. It's legal organs who may be interested in your internet activity, but not ISP.
If you are afraid of using CS service, don't use it. What is the problem? Buy an official card, pay official money to satellite provider and be happy.

I am not sure from which country you are, but in countries I know ISPs are not intersted and not allowed to check you data transfer (might be leagally fine for CS like here but for sure anyone would complain if the ISP reads there emails)
And the data-connection is encrypted (even if it the well known default password used) = checking the data you transmit would be for sure illegal for your ISP !

another side of course if police is investigating and checking your traffic (perhaps if a neighbour inform them or something like that). In this case it would be fine to check the data traffic

bottom line: if you cannot get to sleep with CS get a leagal subscription :)
