Title: Dreambox DM500S + MgCamd = NOT WORKING AT ALL
Post by: satellitegreece on 31 August 2012, 17:45:57
Hello everybody,

I purchased a VIP All subscription and I'm now trying to setup my DreamBox DM500S to work with my subscription.
I've flashed the DM500S with Nabilo Darkstar II image ( it has support for Camd3, Cccam, MgCamd, RqcamD from its own server repository ) and tried to configure it with MgCamd.
Tried 1.31 and 1.35a with no luck.

I installed it from the Add-ons menu, and then edited the newcamd.list file with my details from the "My Subscription" page, saved it, and uploaded it together with the rest of the configuration files "Suma" has uploaded to the forums somewhere.

Rebooted the box and restarted MgCamd with no success.

I tried with the B:00 and B:02 parameter at mg_cfg with no luck as well.

My subscription protocol is Camd3 as shown in the "My Subscription" page.

Please help me out!

Hello,
If your subscription protocol is Camd3, why are you trying to set up Mgcamd? You need to set up Camd3 emulator with Camd3 protosol. Mgcamd emulator is used for newcamd 5.25 protocol.
And file (only 1 file!) required for set up is /var/keys/camd3.servers

I tried Camd3 a few minutes ago, and now it's working ( to be honest I'm not sure which of the two plugins is active, didn't look, just saw that the channel has been opened LOL ).

Should I stay with Camd3 or change to NewCamd and MgCamd 1.35 ?

It's up to you: both protocols are working
