I have a RS232 but my dreamup doesnt seem to pick it up... I have tried several other ones same thing. If there any other way? like is there a tutorial on FTP?

Ok, so the bootloader of the box is not broken.

Which version of dreamup are you using? You should use an old version like 1.2.
Are you sure you selected the right serial port? Is the box stopped from starting? Or is the problem only after you selected the file to upload it?
