Title: Sky Freezing?
Post by: dannybcfc on 31 March 2012, 01:28:20
Constantly getting a picture that keeps freezing. Barely watchable. Anyone else having this issue?

Same problem here. Not watchable at all. Was looking forward to a football game, so really disappointed.

Rebooting the box didn't solve the problem. Have changed server but can't test for another 30 minutes or so.

You need to change firmware or receiver. There is no problems with SkyUK.

No issue with firmware or receiver.

There is no problem with SkyUK except for Sport 1 HD. Constant freezing and not watchable.

Is this because there is a popular match being shown at the moment? Other channels are fine.

It is nothing to do with my firmware or receiver either. I go weeks and weeks without problems, then sometimes 2 days of constant sticking. My firmware or receiver doesnt need updating for 2 days out of 30?

It is all the sports channels for me. Not even SD channels work for longer than ten seconds.

Nothing is going on. The thing is that you do not want to read the forum, and this is not a problem of administration. Administration is not going to repeat every time one and the same things to each user. The things are already described on the forum and everything is provided. This is your problem that you ignore our requests and rules. Keep suffering from freezes, blackscreen, etc. Finally, open your eyes and start reading the forum.

As I see, all claims are coming from users with Spiderboxes. This becomes a rule rather than exception. Those users having Dreamboxes do not suffer of this problem. So, I come to the conclusion that this is a problem either of your receiver or of the firmware installed inside.

This is nothing to do with receiver/firmware.

Have changed SS1 HD to use SID 4001 (instead of 3802) and SS1 HD appears to be working now.

For those of you with the channel editor, look for duplicate SS1 HD channels and identify the one with SID 4001.

I wonder if in a couple of posts, i will see the same problems...
OK, thank you that you know that among duplicated channels, there is the one which is working properly.

Hi Suma,

I can see you are getting frustrated with questions of freezing on Sky Sports channels. I have also come across this issue and it seems to occur when Premiersip matches are live.

I found that i did not have the correct SSID for my SKY Sports channels so i have resolved this issue by reading the forum as you say and correcting my SSID's .

Would it be possible for you to provide the SSID's to use for SKY SPORTS 1/2/3/4/F1 so we can all be certain we are using the correct ones?

I have made sure non of my channels are the DUMMY channels (using the from the sticky thread) but there is still more than one option for some channels. My List is below

Sky Sports HD1    SSID 4001
Sky Sports HD2    SSID 4002
Sky Sports HD3    SSID 4003
Sky Sports HD4    SSID 4004
Sky Sports F1 HD SSID 3835

Sky Sports 1  SSID  4221
Sky Sports 2  SSID  4222
Sky Sports 3  SSID  4219
Sky Sports 4  SSID  5401
Sky Sports F1 SSID 1306

These all appear to be working fine

Thanks

Craig
