Title: Sky Germany with DVB-C
Post by: mrsirvana on 18 February 2012, 11:59:15
Hi,
is it possible to get cardsharing working with a DVB-C receiver? Because I do not have SAT in my appartment so the only way to watch tv is cable - DVB-C?

If not are there any other possible ways because it is not allowed to setup a SAT aerial in our building...

Thanks in advance and best regards!

It should work if your cable-provider als transmit ECMs for CAID 1833 - unfortunatelly for Unitymedia and Kabel Deutschland this is not the case, both providers only transfer ECMs for the CAIDs of there own cable-card. But if you have a another cable provider, most likely a small one not providing a own decoding card, it might work.
Depending on your receiver you might be able to check witch ECMs are transmitted. Oscam for example shows all available ECM-CAIDs (does not require a working connection, will also be shown with no reader configured at all)
