Q: Please give your advice how can I view log-file of MGcamd. i.e. I want to see how is connection with sharing server carried out, how are keys received etc.? (I have Gemini 3.30+MGcamd)
A: Enter your Dreambox using telnet, run "killall mgcamd" command, then run "mgcamd" command and see what is going on.
Q: ~ > killall mgcamd
killall: mgcamd: no process killed
~ > mgcamd
-sh: mgcamd: not found
i can't open log-file. What is the reason???
A: Because emulator can be called not mgcamd, but mgcamd_1.16
Then you need the following :
~ > killall mgcamd _1.16
killall: mgcamd_1.16: process killed
~ > mgcamd_1.16
In order to know how is binary file of mgcamd called you need the following :
1) type mgcamd and press tabulator twice. The full name will be added automatically;
2) to display the list of processes run using the order ps -ax and check the name required.
Here is a sample how to log-file in MPCS for NON DREAMBOX receivers:
1. Run MPCS
2. Wait 1-2 minutes when the encrypted channel is opened.
3. Right click on the blue area of MPCS ---> Edit ----> Select all
3. Right click again ---> Edit ---> Copy
4. When you copy the entire information, paste it in your message, preliminary deleting server name, port, login-password.
