Sky Sports 2 SD very unreliable (other channels fine)

Good morning.

I normally get good service with Sky Sports 1, but Sports 2 is often unstable.

The cricket's moved from 1 to 2 today and I'm seeing very frequent timeouts making watching it impossible.

There aren't any alternative SIDs for Sports 2 SD (I'm using 4222), so I don't think I've anything left to try. The network connection is clearly fine as all the movie channels work well and so does Sports 1.

I don't have an HD box so am limited to this SID.

Please let me know what else I can try, or if there's a known problem.

You see that during some matches (cricket or football), if you have any problems with watching the channel- please show your log-file. What is the reason to tell about the problem today if it happened yesterday or at night? without log-file.... How can we check the channel? Currently, it is OK, without freezes or any time-outs...What is SSSP-MPCS (in your signature)? This combination is unknown for us. If you use MPCS, use only it without experimenting with other combinations

To anwer your questions:

I did attach a log file. It's right there in my message.

I didn't report it before as I rarely watch it. Today I'm trying to and it's not watchable. So I report it today as I have demonstrable, loggable evidence of it failing repeatedly.

SSSP is simple serial sharing protocol and it's how MPCS interfaces with my receiver. I'm doing no experimenting and using the mpcs.server file as generated by your system. I added it as your instructions say to include anything that might help you understand the set up.

When the cricket is on SS1 there is rarely a problem, but on SS2 it's frequent. It's happening right now. Here's another log snapshot. It's not the network as otherwise all the other channels would be affected. They aren't.

Not this month. I settled on server1 last month.

I'll try now if you think it'll make any difference. You have any specific recommendation?

Anything can be the reason. To check if it is OUR (server's) problem- change it.

Server3 subjectively feels slightly better, but still exhibits frequent timeouts.

Here's the log from my change to server3 at 1500 GMT.

Should I use another change to switch to the third server to gather more data, or is this now sufficient to investigate?

Giving up now & going out. Can't watch SS2 at all and SS3 is starting to suffer now.

Perhaps the card simply can't take the load when big matches are on (there are three right now on SS1, 2, 3)?

I am not sure which SkySport we should use as I have an HD receiver I only configured the correct HD channels

Jogi: thanks very much for having a look. I didn't realise there was another SS2 as it's not listed at Lyngsat and this SID wasn't on the 'avoid' list. I see it is at Kingofsat, so must remember to go there first in the future.

I've loaded that one you suggested up (SID 9314) and will give it a go.
