Skybox S9 PVR newcamd not working

Hi there!

I have just bought Skybox S9 PVR recently. Well its said to be the cheapest alternative to DM800. It has both the cccam and newcamd, thats why i have bought the "Astra 28.2E" subscription.

Well my question is that... how should i get it work? I have found no tutorial on this receiver so I will really appreciate if some one shed some light on this plz.

One thing more... I am sure this receiver works with cccam just checked it yesterday but don't know how to put these newcamd setting.....

This receiver is also called as Openbox s9 PVR aswell.

did u get newcamd working with sky uk?

i was looking at getting one of these openbox's or a technomate 5402 which also only run cccam or newcamd and would like to know if sky uk works ok on newcamd?

Hi, ask these questions on Skybox S9 PVR support forum if any.
Cccam is not recommended here, only newcamd or camd3 protocols.
Even if you use Cccam, it will work for you but some day it will stop working.

yes i know we cant use cccam, that is why i would like to know if newcamd works ok and sky uk works on newcamd.

i havent got the box - i was thinking of buying one for my Mum but its a bit of a waste if I buy one and find out it doesnt work - thats why i would like to know if it works first before I buy the receiver.

hi ya iv been looking at this box as well and the info i have picked up tells me that it can be used with the Mgcamd 1.31 but it has NO FTP on it so im not sure how we would get the file in to it even thow i cant see it not havinng the FTP

That is a problem of firmware of the receiver. Unfortunately, we don't know how to operate it. Look for info on the support forums!

did you try to upload the settings file via the usb?

openbox s9 is a nice box, Works well with all servers that I have used todate.

im useing one here on newcam and works fine dont seem to brake up or anything so all is as it shuld be.

Ther is NO FTP (at this moment in time) all files are updated by usb or my remote.

Grate cheep HD box with PVR(record over USB).

Its a new box and FW is still being updated. The EPG sucks but thats the only down side to this box.

If you shop about you can get them shiped to the uk for Ј65 with free P&P.

im using the box with newcam d....its working fine.....it takes some time to open so u have to wait like 3-5 sec but its working fine....if you need help on how to set it up drop me a msg

Hi I got S10 which runs very similar software and I can't get newcamd to work correctly, some SD channels are working but all the rest is saying scrambled, any clues on what I might be doing wrong?

All working now, ignore.list was the issue I had same as some other people on this forum...
