Don't update your firmware if you don't know what you're doing! Also this kills clones. So be careful. I've checked my receiver and it's not a clone.

o check if your OpenBox S9 is an original or clone, simple follow these instructions:

This is the correct procedure to identify if your OpenBox S9 is an original or clone.

Go to Menu --> Tools --> Information, then press 7 7 7 7 7 7 on the remote.
If the CCID which will appear is one of the following: 00d0/00ea/085b/0d0c/98a1/98f2/9cf4/9d1a: congratulatations, your receiver is original! You can upgrade safely to any new firmware, and experience many more new functions.

If your STB`s CCID is not one of the above: please, DO NOT UPGRADE to ANY new firmware, otherwise your HD receivers will be killed after 10 times of on/off power cycles! To save your box if you accidentally upgraded, make sure you upgrade to one of the old versions.

This firmware adds support for mp4, mp3 and many more filetypes. It also has a nice new videoplayer.
