I subscribed to sky packages yesterday and received the log in info. Today I entered the info correctly and it only showing as connecting to server and keeps trying every 6 seconds and no response. When I ping the server no response with timed out message. Normally if the information is wrong it would say log in failed. Please let me know if my account is active.

Are you sure that you entered the info CORRECTLY? How did you enter the info and where?

Of course, because you entered the info NOT CORRECTLY
When I ping the server no response with timed out message. Normally if the information is wrong it would say log in failed. Please let me know if my account is active.
You can easily check it by yourself by entering the billing system and checking the "My subscription(s) section from menu.

Reading your signature, I understood that your receiver, settings, subscription is only Nizzy.
Unfortunately, this model is unknown, your subscription is unknown (we have several Skies - which Sky is mentioned in particular- not clear), is your receiver linux-based? Can you provide log-file?

I entered the info as follows:
Server: servX
Port: XXX42
Des key: 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
User name: wizzy2wizzy
Password: xxxxxx(my password)
Emulator: Newcamd
My receiver is a Openbox and currently using different server and the setting information entered as above format and it works.
My subscription is for
Sky UK HD + ViewAsia + ZeeTV + Geo + ESPN 28E
My user I'd is Wizzy2wizzy
Below is the screen shot of settings page of my receiver.

WARNING: If you post server name and port No. again, you will be banned! This is rules violation!
If your receiver does not understand server X, try to add IP address (PC--> start --> all programs --> system tools --> command line --> ping server X

Thanks for the reply and sorry about my ignorance. Should have read the forum rules first.
Tried to ping the server from my PC as advised and the request is timed out. I entered the server ip address in the receiver setup and still not connecting.

My internet provider is Virgin media in UK, it's not easy to change to the provider because we are locked in a 12 month contract. Is any other members having problem connecting through Virgin media? You mean to say that the service provider blocking access to this server? If so shall I change to different server in my subscription and try again?

There is one more reason - your IP was banned on server. It is because you have entered invalid login. Here is line from the logs on server:
...
02/07/2013 at 07:37:27 Error: login failed. Unknown user: wizzy2w!zzy
...
and after several attempts your IP was automatically banned.
Please fix your configs, and try again.

You were right, the log in detail was not entered CORRECTLY.
I identified my mistake, there is a spelling mistake in my user name, entered ! instead of i , feel stupid :-[ :-[, Should have put my glasses on lol.
You mentioned my ip is banned due to several failed attempts, When the ban would be lifted? I shall be grateful if the ban could be removed now. I have corrected the mistake and will try log in again.

Try to log in now, it should work.

wizzy2wizzy, please reboot your Openbox, seems like it sends hundreds requests per second right now and server banned your IP again and again.

I have entered the correct info (mistakes corrected as pointed out) and rebooted the receiver. I haven't connected to the server. Please let me when I should try again and I don't want it to keep trying and getting banned.

I still see in logs wrong username with ! char:

...
