ARP Cach poisoning attack
« : 12 Декабря 2015, 21:18:00 »
Hi

Watching S** Sports today my box, a Protek 9760 HD, would stop decoding and announce "Scrambled Channel" and not clear,  Usually going up or down a channel would get it going again but it became neccessary to switch it off and then on again to clear, this happened a couple of times.

Later, whilst at my computer, it flased up that the firewall had blocked an "ARP Cach poisoning attack" at the same moment my Sat box stopped decoding.
Checking the log it sugests that the Sat box was attacking the PC, but I see that as a consequence of the attack on the Sat Box.

My question would be: is there something lacking in the Boris T Firmware or does the fault lie within the box and is there a workaround
STB: Protek 9760 hd ip F/W 1.25 & using Newcamd525 + External Hard Drive
The Rest: 0.8 Mtr O/S trackable from 45E to 45W via VBox and a technomate TM-1 High-Gain Gold 0.1dB LNB
Pooter: Win7 Intel Core i5 @ 3.3 ghz 70 Meg on FTTC connection

Hi,
You post in wrong place. We have sub-forum re: Hardware (receivers) and re:Protek receivers in particular https://www.cardsharing.cc/index.php?board=59.0
I think, posting in the right place will bring you more results... Don't you think so?

Thanks you're probably correct.

Today all seems well, so I'll put it down as transient
