i understand that if i send some one a link to join and subscribe to the site i then get commission on there purchases  but if some one dosnt use the link and subscribes to the site and i then add them to my list will i still get commission for any further subscriptions they make and can they get access to top up there subscription whilst in my list of users ??

Don't mix reseller and referals.
Reseller means that you purchase subscription by yourself, set the client's receiver, pays for him and get commission attaching him to your cabinet.
When you give a referal link to your clients and they register and pay following the link, you will also have commission. About referal- read in the billing, how it works.
