What is meant with"promo" on HD+ channels?

promo means, that HD+ was for free for one year on SkyDE decoding cards
most times it had to be "ordered" from Sky to get it activated (without any charge), sometimes it was "automatically" enabled (most likely within a card exchange)

however, the free period is only 12 month, like you also have a HD+card within any HD+receiver you buy which works free of charge for 12 month (I believe the free/promo period has been reduced to 6 month since this year, doesn't matter)

after the first 12 month "promo" you need to pay 60 Euro/year for HD+ - the price is the same for original HD+cards or if you get HD+ channels activated on your SkyDE viewing card

because HD+ is sold as seperate package from CS-server I can understand, that they do not paid the extra HD+charge to get the package activated on the existing SkyDE cards as they already pay for the HD+subscription *g*
it was fair enough from CS-service not to block the HD+channels on the SkyDE viewing cards until now to get the HD+package sold in addition
