What is a cardsharing?
« : 08 Декабря 2006, 11:28:34 »
Q1: What is sharing?
A: Sharing is a connection via Internet to original prepaid cards located at a distant server in order to  decode and watch encrypted (scrambled) TV channels. Currently, it is the only easily available method of watching the not hacked encrypted channels with minimum expenses involved. You can wait for cracking of encrypted TV channels for a long time, but you can also start watching your favorite TV channels at a very low cost right now by connecting to a sharing-server.

Q2: What do I need to watch the encrypted (scrambled) channels?
A: You need a satellite dish antenna, a satellite receiver (preferably equipped with Ethernet network card) and an un-interruptible Internet connection.

Here is a list of receivers equipped with NIC (Network Interface Card), which (one may say) are made especially for sharing: Dreambox 7020S (7025S,7000S,500S) , Triple Dragon DBS 3000, IPbox, Relook, Sezam, Mutant 200S(400S,7700,8000). The advantage of these receivers is that you need no computer to watch the shared TV channels. The sharing process is stable. It is exactly like you use an original card in your receiver. You may record favorite programs on your hard drive. The above receivers support original cards for watching all encrypted TV channels. In order to update the keys through the internet for watching the encrypted channels all you need is just press 2 buttons in the receiver.

There are even more options here:
1)   you can use any receiver with built-in decoder or module + Season Interface + PC; or
2)   a receiver with emu + PC;
3)   SkyStar DVB card of the PC.
But in such cases no stable signal is guaranteed. If a stable picture is not so important for you and you are ready to change settings now and then, this variant is for you. Don’t forget that to watch  the encrypted channels you need a PC (which consumes electric power) connected to the internet and to a receiver by a serial cable (which can become somewhat uncomfortable for you). Not all  crypts can be decoded in this way. There is a lot of other disadvantages hidden in these options. Maybe you will start thinking of purchasing a new receiver (the price is about USD 200), and thus you will save your nerves!

Q3: What TV channels one can watch  using the sharing?
A: Practically all encrypted channels. It depends on your geographical location and capabilities of your dish, as well as on the number of prepaid original cards installed at the sharing server.

Q4: Are there any guarantees? Can the channels be re-encrypted?
A: The channels cannot be re-encrypted because they are constantly decoded by original prepaid cards. If provider changes his cards, the cards installed at the server will be also changed to new ones. Imagine, that you have paid and purchased an original card, but the card is inserted in another receiver connected by a cable with yours. The remote server may be located at some distance (1m or 10,000 km, no difference).

Q5: What does the quality and stable picture of the channels depend on?
A: The quality and stability of the picture directly depend on the internet connection only. Note, that it is not the speed, but the quality of the internet connection, which is important. The speed of 33,6 Kb/s is sufficient. The quality of internet means the speed of packages between the client and server (in milliseconds) and the number of lost packages. For an average traffic volume and average watching time the monthly traffic will reach about 10-30 Mb (it depends on how often you watch TV).

Q6: Can I avoid using internet, or can I use a dial-up connection (through the telephone line)?
A: The internet serves as a cable to connect your receiver with the card on the sharing server. No connection – no picture. You can use a dial-up connection through the telephone line, but it will be more expensive for you. The receiver addresses the card 6-10 times per minute, it means that you need a stable and uninterrupted internet connection to get the picture.

Q7: How fast are encrypted channels switched during card-sharing?
A: If the receiver is properly adjusted and the internet connection is stable, you will be able to switch between the channels even faster than if you had the same card inserted in your receiver.
